Agriculture

The investment opportunities the Australian agricultural sector offers has never been greater.  With increasing demand driven by developing Asian economies (300 million middle class consumers by 2030), A favourable $AUD mostly below US0.80, and Free Trade Agreements reducing costs of imports from Australia, we will see farm gate prices and consequential terms of trade hit "best ever" dynamics.

Many land valuations are still at 2002 levels, yet livestock prices are at record highs. These highs are still significantly behind their northern hemisphere equivalents.  The reason being the years of drought in eastern Australia. This drought will break as they all do, and supply to export markets will tighten as farmers restock.  The consequential livestock price increase has no reason not to be stratospheric.  Then land values will obviously follow.  This will be a great time to be invested in Australian Agriculture. Identifying investment opportunities that possess strong local management is critical and is what Industrial Commodity Resources specialise in.

Mining & Resources

Australia is recognised globally as a leading destination for mining and resources investment and as Australia's gateway to Asian markets. Natural resources consist of bauxite, coal, copper, tin, gold, iron ore, silver, uranium, tungsten, nickel, rare earth elements, lead, zinc, diamonds, mineral sands, natural gas and petroleum. Whereas metals such as iron-ore and gold constitute 28% of the total exports, coal accounts for 18% and oil and gas account for 9%.

Australia’s resources sector is in a period of significant growth as it moves from the investment phase to the production phase of the mining boom. As major projects are completed, the iron ore, coal and LNG sectors will experience a large-scale ramp-up in production capacity.

With the 23 years of uniterupted growth, the largest pool of funds under management in Asia, and a triple ‘A’ rating by all three global rating agencies, the Australian resources sector is next door to Asia's fast growing economies and offers execption long term investment opportunities.

Energy & Infrastructure

Australia welcomes foreign investment. The country’s strong economic credentials, transparent business environment and substantial pipeline of projects provide the ideal conditions for companies to finance, construct, own and operate major infrastructure assets.

Many opportunities exist to apply state-of-the-art technologies and construction expertise to new projects, for upgrading existing infrastructure and investing across all stages of the asset life cycle, ranging from start-up to asset ownership and operation.

As stated by The Australian Trade Commission infrastructure development is a priority for the Australian Government. Prime Minister Tony Abbott has stated he wants to be known as an ‘Infrastructure Prime Minister’ and the Government has committed A$50 billion for a capital program to upgrade the country’s transport network between 2013–14 and 2019–20 onwards. Contributions from state and territory governments and the private sector will bring the total value of infrastructure investment to A$125 billion.
